Projects
Here you can find freelance projects that I was allowed to publish.
The projects are only described briefly here and with a focus on the framework and language. But I think particularly good communication is more important than the technology used.
2023 - today
Bitmade - Collaboration
Regular project-related collaboration with a digital agency, including the guidance of junior developers (planning, code reviews, pairing).
Development of a fully end-to-end (E2E) tested Next.js application for the automation of advertising media. The client was one of the largest German retail groups.
2024 - today
Captured Live
Further development of an internal tool to streamline work for the tour service Captured Live.
The Laravel-based application simplifies event planning, staff scheduling, and customer acquisition.
A web scraper captures potential productions, which are then processed by the staff. The software continuously synchronizes ongoing productions via an API with the project management system Rentman.
2024 - today
Flowers & Bees Members Area
Member portal and growing social network focused on the community of the queer-friendly party organizer ‘Flowers and Bees.’ Developed using the TALL-Stack (Tailwind, Alpine.js, Laravel, and Livewire).
Handling high email traffic due to time-sensitive ticket links, which are exclusively sent to members. Includes a ticket exchange and many other benefits for members. A forum and an integrated ticket shop are already in the planning phase.
2024
Edel Eben
Website for the artisan company “Edel-Eben.” The focus was on creating an elegant, animated design combined with a fully dynamic Statamic “building block” system, which I found particularly exciting.
Implemented using the TALL Stack (Tailwind, Alpine.js, Laravel, Livewire), each page can be built from flexible components, with animations, color transitions, and other visual accents fully customizable.
The branding was developed by the great designer Felix Rostig.
2024
Weinberger Architects
In collaboration with Pixelfeinkost, the implementation of the innovative “drawer” design with a strong focus on SEO was particularly interesting. Subpages were designed to open in lateral “SlideOver” windows while still being accessible via unique URLs, ensuring they could be indexed by Google.
Next.js was used alongside a WordPress backend. Despite the complex layout, projects and content remain fully dynamic.
2023
Schaffrath Digitalagentur
Six-month project-related contract with the digital agency from Geldern. I supported the team in the development of an editorial system for a large German publishing house, using Laravel/Statamic and Next.js at enterprise level.
In addition to the great team, the mature Scrum processes and the focus on scalability with AWS were particularly exciting.
2023
Gesamtschule Heinsberg
Panning and relaunch for the schools in Heinsberg and Waldfeucht. Creation of an information platform for students and teachers, featuring schedules, news, staff directories, and downloadable materials.
Implemented as a completely flexible Statamic CMS “building block” system – each page can be created from a large, predefined set of components. Tailwind, Alpine.js, Laravel, and Livewire (TALL-Stack) were utilized in this project.
Rebranding and screen design: Agentur Pink.
2022
Highspeed vor Ort
Concept and development of a web app that syncs bookings via with two-way integration of the "Teamup" calendar service
In particular, the analysis, optimization and technical mapping of customer processes was an exciting task and now saves a lot of time in their daily work.
The tech stack is a Livewire/Alpine.js/Tailwind frontend with a Laravel (Nova) backend. The focus here was particularly on performance, since the API integration already had some speed implications.
2022
Your Message
Huge project for the social media startup "Your Message" as lead fullstack developer and project manager. Laravel Nova Backend, SPA frontend with Inertia.js and Vue.js, Typescript and TailwindCSS. Fully testdriven with PHPUnit and Laravel Dusk on a CI/CD pipeline at GitLab.
The website offers fans and influencers the opportunity to connect via a payment system for really important messages. The support for donations is a integral part of the application.
2022
SHEARER Creative Studio
Great project for the modern, gender-neutral hair salon "SHEARER Creative Studio".
Implemented with React and Gatsby as a statically rendered page, with an creative design and modern animations - at the same time keeping top results in terms of Lighthouse Score and SEO. Gatsby is still a great tool for static sites that need to be hosted without Node and serve a lot of images.
The great CD comes from Katharina Link, the screen design was developed together with Felix Rostig and Damian Brzostewicz.
I was allowed to open source the code at GitHub to showcase the way I work, feel free to look into it :)
2022
Simon vom Eyser 2022
Relaunch of my own website, the Gatsby version from 2020 was a bit outdated and difficult to maintain.
The version you're looking at right now is developed using the really awesome Next.js framework on a node server. The website is completely implemented with Typescript and also deserved some smaller features like an inline video player for projects, a search and a small info page for my blog.
I open sourced the code at GitHub to showcase the way I work.
2022
Foodhub NRW
The project, funded by the Ministry for the Environment in North Rhine-Westphalia, is a full-fledged social network for the gastronomic industry.
Together with Dajo Eberlei, the project was developed with Laravel and a Vue.js frontend. Companies throughout Germany can present their offers here, network, write blog posts and find out about events.
The requirements analysis of the project was just as exciting as the implementation and the subsequent successful transfer to the support phase.
2022
Kulinarische Schnitzeljagd
The "Kulinarische Schnitzeljagd" organizes regular "tours" to various venues, mostly limited to one city, where end customers can then get (food)samples for free.
Together with Dajo Eberlei, a complex analysis and full automation of work processes took place in a timespan of over three years. The implemented solutions now reduces the administrative work of the organizers to a minimum.
Accounts for users and companies, competitions, a Shopify integration and statistics for almost 10000 users were implemented with Laravel, a Laravel Nova backend and Vue.js in the frontend. Thoroughly tested with a CI/CD pipeline and a combination of unit, feature and browser tests.
2021
Voss Telekom LR
Complex shopping tool for Voss Telekom GmbH. The second project with the Svelte JavaScript frontend framework. The SPA is particularly appealing to end customers because of its animations.
All options such as combinations of tariffs, devices and their configurations can be maintained in a specially developed backend tool. The requirements' analysis in this project was particularly extensive and exciting.
The design was created by awesome Agentur Pink.
2021
Cheetah Events
Party planner for event bookings in the nightclub "Cheetah", implemented with Laravel and with the "fresh" Javascript frontend framework "Svelte". All upselling positions and options are maintainable via a Laravel Nova backend.
Due to the young target group, the customer's focus was particularly on an appealing UX and modern animations, which is why the project was implemented as an SPA. The booker's progress is saved in the browser and is particularly optimized for mobile devices. The design was conceived by the cool folks over at Agentur Pink
2021
Amaro 2021 Relaunch
Big relaunch of the car dealer's website, which was first implemented with Wordpress in 2018.
The project has now been based on a modern tech stack and is a completely dynamic "construction kit" with the Laravel CMS Statamic. In the background, the somewhat demanding API of the Schwacke vehicle management system is connected and integrated. The integration of a newsletter API is also part of the game.
In the frontend of things, the complex, interactive elements such as the vehicle search were implemented with Vue.js and Vuex.
The redesign was conceived together with the customer and Martin Liesche .
2021
Lehrke Klimatechnik
Simple "business card" website for Lehrke air conditioning technology. The cool (hehe) concept comes from the professionals at Pink Agency.
The Laravel website uses Alpine.js and Livewire in the frontend for simple interactions, as only a few interactive elements such as a typical contact form or a simple image gallery were required.
For the administration I used the Statamic CMS to enable flexible content management and to keep the website, which can be nicely divided into components", dynamic.
2021
Tonhalle Düsseldorf
Development of the website for the famous concert hall "Tonhalle" in Düsseldorf as SPA with Next.js and TypeScript.
The great agency Bitmade was trusted with the technical implementation and oversaw me with the frontend development. We developed with React Storybook and frequent code reviews, the backend was implemented by Bitmade as a Headless CMS with Drupal.
The app integrates a lot of services like Cloudinary for image optimization, Secutix for their ticketshop and is hosted on AWS.
2020
Simple Web Dev
My humble blog about the different things I learn on this intimidating journey through web development land. I write about technical stuff but sprinkle in a few words about project management from time to time, all decorated with some very nerdy humor.
I developed the platform myself by using a Laravel installation, the posts are stored as markdown files and version controlled. I needed to do quite a few customizations with the Markdown parser, so I wrote a post about that.
2020
Müll nicht rum
Great project for the Rhineland-Palatinate state government. This page combines APIs of environmental organizations into one interactive map to reduce waste.
Implemented in awesome teamwork with pixelfeinkost doing both frontend and backend work. The page uses Vue.js for it's interactive parts and Wordpress for content management.
2020
ems - Nerd Business
Relaunch for the big IT Service Provider ems. The awesome screen design was part of a larger rebranding done by Agentur Pink. The site's implementation was done in happy collaboration with Furkan Yesil.
The page integrates repair requests with a CRM and a newsletter form with Cleverreach. We also wrote some fancy components with Vue.js to make finding repair prices much more intuitive.
2020
Sahneschnitte
Smaller but interesting project for the "Sahneschnitte" hair salon together with the Pink Agency.
The Laravel website uses Alpine.js and Livewire in the frontend for easy interactions, the backend uses the great CMS Statamic for flexible content maintenance.
The site integrates with a newsletter service and contains the "typical" elements of a simple "business card" website such as a contact form and an image gallery.
